PSC and Its Partners of Success Invite You to Celebrate Renewed Achievements: “New Splendor”

The BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC) is celebrating its renovations on 17 July 2016. The celebration will be held at the BA, where the ALEXploratorium will reopen after having been redesigned and renovated. The reconstructed and enhanced ALEXploratorium befits the current rapid, scientific and technological advancement, thus drawing the attention of young scientists and students, making them more interested in the sciences, and offering them a simplified understanding of some scientific concepts in various fields.
Additionally, the Planetarium’s latest productions will be inaugurated. The creators of the two new shows are all Egyptians, who have created these productions through the Production Unit of the PSC in collaboration with Nahdet Misr Group, the American University in Cairo (AUC), and the Egyptian National Scientific & Technical Information Network (ENSTINET), which is affiliated with the Academy of Scientific Research. The production of both shows received financial support from the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Program, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Scientific Research, and was funded by the European Union (EU). This experience, and achievement, is the first attempt in the Arab World to produce high quality planetarium shows using the DigiStar 5 system.
The celebration is going to begin at 11:00 am, at the BA Conference Center (BACC), with the opening speeches of the partners and organizers of the event, as well as the speeches of the attending guests of honor. The premier of the two new planetarium shows, An Enlightened Mind and The Mission, will ensue, accompanied by the recorded words of esteemed scholar and scientist Dr. Farouk el Baz. After that, the official inauguration of the ALEXploratorium will commence, and a seminar titled “Sources of Education and Culture Outside the Classroom” will be conducted for the general public to discuss the role of different sectors in disseminating the sciences and culture to all factions and groups of society, especially youths and children.
