India’s Independence Day at the BA

Alexandria— On the Occasion of the 62nd Anniversary of India’s Independence, the BA Arts Center is organizing a series of events, in cooperation with the Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC).

An exhibition entitled "Gandhi: His Life and His Message" is held from 16 to 20 August 2009. The exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Indian Nation, features portraits, photographs, books and other items associated with Mahatma Gandhi’s life.

Richard Attenborough’s Ghandi (1982) is screened on 15 August 2009. Winner of 26 awards, of which eight are Oscars, the film narrates the biography of the immortal Indian figure.

A one-day workshop “Yoga for Positive Health” is held on 19 August 2009. It will explore different dimensions of health and also will focus on improving our health through Yoga Posture -exercises to Breathing exercise, Relaxation, Meditation and many more which are practically accessible techniques suitable for everyday practice.
