Honoring Dr. Ismail Serageldin in GWP

Alexandria— Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and one of the founders of the Global Water Partnership, attended the 10th anniversary of the Global Water Partnership (GWP), 18-20 August in Stockholm, Sweden. During which, he was honored for being the first GWP chairman since its foundation in 1996. Dr. Serageldin gave a speech exploring the world water problems and the achievements of GWP. Ms. Margaret Catley-Carlson, GWP Chair, founders of GWP, and others interested in environmental issues were among the attendants.

The Global Water Partnership is a working partnership of all those involved in water management. The mission of the GWP is to "support countries in the sustainable management of their water resources."
