The third intermediate period represents the aging period in ancient Egyptian history when the state started showing signs of crumbling during the reign of the 20th dynasty. The country faced internal strife, foreign invasions, and it was once again divided into two states. The capital of the northern state was Tanis in the eastern delta region, while the city of Thebes was chosen as the capital of the southern state.
The lecture will be given by Amira Sedik, Egyptologist at Cultnat.
