The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosts Cardio Alex 2004, the 9th Annual Conference of the Egyptian Working Group on Interventional Cardiology,' 14- 16 July 2004. The conference is organized in conjuction with the Cardio -Alex Summer Course and the Pan -Arab Interventional Cardiology Conference.

Cardio Alex is expected to include 1500 participants, varying from cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pediatricians to internists, nurses and students, from Egypt, Europe and the U.S. Cardio Alex is Chaired by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Sobhi, Professor of Cardiology, Alexandria University and Pan Arab Interventional Cardiology Conference Chairman.
