Alexandria, 4 May 2005—The Academic and Cultural Affairs at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is organizing a presentation on Tobacco Control and Supporting Health-Related Behaviors on 7 May 2005, by Dr. Fatimah El Awa, Regional Advisor, Tobacco Free Initiative WHO/EMRO.
A group of the Youth for Environmental Sustainability and Better Understanding (YESBU), affiliated to the Center for Special Studies and Programs at the BA, will participate.
The Tobacco Free Initiative (TFI) is a WHO cabinet project created to focus international attention, resources and action on the global tobacco pandemic that kills nearly five million people a year today. Since the Director-General declared TFI a priority program, WHO’s interest in fighting the tobacco pandemic gained new momentum, leading TFI to move fast.
The presentation takes place at 5:00 pm, East Hall, BA Conference Center.
