Alexandria, 27 January 2005— The Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) is hosting a workshop organized by Schlumberger, the international petroleum company, within the framework of The Schlumberger Excellence in Educational Development (SEED) from 29 January to 3 February 2005.

SEED program is focused on students aged 10- to 18-year olds. Established as a non-profit organization in 1998, the SEED philosophy is founded on generosity. A volunteer-based program, it provides a channel for members of Schlumberger’s workforce to share their passion for science, technology and learning with youth in developing communities.

The workshop will include discussions and the presentation of the 2004 SEED Water Project’s results, focusing on Water Sources, Water Quality and Water Culture; and an introduction of new SEED activities for 2005. Participants in the workshop include students in the program from around the world, SEED staff and volunteers.
