The Grand Mufti of Egypt Receives the BA Director to Discuss Enhancing Joint Cooperation

His Eminence Dr. Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, Grand Mufti of Egypt, received Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Dr. Shaimaa El-Demerdash, Director of the Library’s Heritage Revival Project, to discuss enhancing joint cooperation between Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
During the meeting, His Eminence the Grand Mufti of Egypt said that Egypt’s Dar Al-Ifta is currently undergoing institutional renewal to keep pace with recent developments, thereby strengthening its presence at the regional and global levels. He noted that cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina includes the exchange of expertise and organizing joint training programs, in addition to documenting a collection of important historical fatwas. The two sides also agreed to sign a cooperation protocol that defines the frameworks for joint work in the fields of training, research, and documentation, which will contribute to preserving Islamic heritage and facilitating its access for researchers and scholars.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Zayed expressed his delight at meeting with the Grand Mufti of Egypt, praising the fruitful cooperation with Dar Al-Ifta and affirming the Bibliotheca Alexandrina's keenness to participate in documenting the heritage of fatwas and enhancing research and training cooperation programs, thereby serving Egyptian society and strengthening the role of national institutions in the dissemination of knowledge.
