“Ancient Egyptians: Narratives and History” in a Seminar at the BA International Book Fair

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organized a seminar entitled "Ancient Egyptians: Narratives and History" as part of the cultural program of the 19th round of its  International Book Fair, with the participation of writers Sarah Seif, Mona El-Shimy, and Amal Refaat. The session was moderated by novelist and archaeologist Dr. Hussein Abdel Bassir, Director of the BA Antiquities Museum.

Dr. Abdel Bassir stressed that ancient Egypt is inspiring to all creatives around the world, and explained the relationship of Egyptian writers with ancient Egypt in the contemporary Egyptian novel.

It is worth mentioning that the 19th edition of the BA International Book Fair is witnessing the participation of 77 Egyptian and Arab publishing houses, and runs from 15 to 28 July, in cooperation with the General Egyptian Book Organization and the Egyptian and Arab Publishers Association.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed announced the launch of the "Bibliotheca Alexandrina Reading Award" under the theme "Live a Thousand Years with Reading”, during his opening speech at the BA International Book Fair.

He mentioned that the award will be granted annually and targets all Egyptians aged 18 – 40.
