The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organized a webinar titled “The Arab City and the Transition to a Smart Community: The Prospects and Challenges", presented by Prof. Walid Rashad, Professor of Sociology at the National Center for Social and Criminological Research, with the attendance of Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the BA.
The webinar discussed the transformation of Arab cities into smart cities and the widespread use of ICTs and modern innovations to improve the quality of life for residents.
The event is part of a series of seminars entitled "Social Sciences in a Changing World", launched by the BA last August, in cooperation with the Center for Research and Social Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University.
