Seminar: "Tendencies of Extremism and Terrorism in the Middle East"

Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Chairman of the Committee for Combating Extremism and Terrorism at the Supreme Council of Culture, took part in a seminar entitled "Tendencies of Extremism and Terrorism in the Middle East", held as part of the Cairo International Book Fair 2024. The event was attended by Dr. Khaled Okasha, Director of the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies; Dr. Gamal Abdel Gawad, Member of the Advisory Committee and Director of the Public Policy Program at the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies; and Dr. Azza Fathy, Professor of Sociology at Ain Shams University. It was moderated by Dr. Mohamed El-Baz, editor-in-chief of Al-Dostour newspaper.

Dr. Zayed pointed out that the issue of extremism and terrorism is one of the most critical topics that requires extensive research. He also stressed the importance of art and philosophy to the creativity of the human mind.
