Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and Dr. Antoine Petit, Chairman of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), signed an agreement to renew cooperation between the two entities, on Friday, 24 November 2023, in Paris.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed expressed his delight at this agreement, which comes as part of the strong relations and joint cooperation between Egypt and France. He explained that the cooperation between the Library and the French Center dates back to 2009, and has resulted in several digital cultural projects, such as digitizing and making the press archive of the Center for Economic, Social and Legal Documentary Studies (CEDEJ) accessible to the public on the Internet using advanced technology, together with the Egyptian caricature digital archive, among others.

The two parties identified means of mutual cooperation in the fields of scientific research and information technology, which include sharing experiences to design and implement documentation databases, publish them on the Internet, conduct studies and analysis of certain issues and topics, and work jointly on research results and use them in the dissemination of knowledge.
