Knowledge in the Digital Age: A lecture at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Alexandria, 17 January 2005— The Manuscript Center in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) organized a lecture on 12 January 2005, entitled Knowledge in the Digital Age by Dr. Youssef Ziedan, Director of the Manuscript Center. The lecture shed light on the difference between the previous knowledge systems where information was gained by exploration, and the contemporary knowledge systems which are based on information flow, organizing and knowledge production. It also discussed the epistemological effect of the Internet and multimedia.
