Anna Lindh Foundation and its Call for Candidates

Posted on

Dr. Traugott Schofthaler, Executive Director of the Anna Lindh EuroMediterranean Foundation for the Dialogue between Cultures, has arrived to begin setting up the Foundation, which is scheduled to start functioning within a few months. The Foundation, to be established in Alexandria and hosted by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and the Swedish Institute, seeks candidate recruitment during early 2005.

The EU Foreign Ministers selected Alexandria as headquarters for the Anna Lindh Foundation on 6 May 2004 in Dublin, Ireland. The Foundation, named after the late Swedish Foreign Minister, was created by the 25 Member States of the European Union and their ten Mediterranean partners as an instrument of the Barcelona Process and with the general objective of developing partnership in social, cultural and human affairs, and, in particular, for developing human resources, promoting understanding between cultures and exchanges between civil societies. Mr. Traugot Schofthaler was selected as its Executive Director.
