The Bibliotheca Alexandrina Information Services Department, in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), organizes a seminar entitled “DAISY: Opening the Door to the World of Reading” on Monday, 9 December 2019, at 1:00 pm, in the BACC Delegates Hall.
The seminar highlights the importance of DAISY digital books in reading publications in Egypt, especially for dyslexic people. It will also present a real-life experience of a Japanese woman and her daughter who used the DAISY format, and how it helped develop their educational and cultural skills.
The seminar is part of a project signed by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Ministry of Communications, the Egyptian National Library and Archives, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to integrate people with disabilities through developing their access to information.
