Dr. Moustafa Elfeki: Egypt faces a systematic war of rumors which should be addressed by the state’s institutions

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organizes a seminar entitled “Facing Rumors and the Cohesion of the State” on Thursday, 7 November 2019, with the participation of a number of writers, intellectuals, members of the media, university professors, as well as representatives of state institutions.
Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, stressed the important role of the state institutions in confronting rumors. He said that the seminar will tackle ways of addressing these rumors and increasing the confidence between citizens and the State, by demonstrating the fallacies of rumors, and highlighting the State’s achievements that are happening on the ground.
He also emphasized the fact that the Egyptian state is facing a systematic war of rumors led by regional and international parties that aim to destabilize the country and undermine its development plans, a matter that requires the attention of the state’s institutions and its citizens.
