Fulbright Alumni Conference at the BA

Posted on

Alexandria—The BA hosts on 1 and 2 November 2009 the Fulbright Alumni Conference, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt.

Entitled “Exchange Inspires Change: Knowledge Acquisition and Information Restructuring”, the Conference addresses the challenges that face Egypt’s academic community. Lack of communication among academic, cultural, or technical bubbles creates dysfunction and hinders the effort to improve Egypt’s scholarly environment. On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt, Fulbrighters initiate a new discourse and a “Network of Networks” to become partners in the process of information restructuring and innovation.

Created in the aftermath of the Second World War through the efforts of Senator J. William Fulbright, the Fulbright Program promotes peace and understanding through educational exchange. It is one of the most prestigious award programs worldwide, operating in 144 countries and with 51 commissions.

The Conference is held at the BACC Small Theater.
