Alexandria—The BA hosts on 20 and 21 October 2009 a Workshop entitled “The Middle Generation… A Vision for the Future”, attended by dignitaries from different fields.

The initiative emerges from the BA’s belief of the major role of the middle generation, encompassing both experience and the will to change. It proposes recommendations and ideas for the progress of the Egyptian society in political empowerment, identity and citizenship, media, cultural creativity, science and technology, and the Egyptian regional and international presence.

Six working groups will tackle the proposed themes, preparing a policy paper based on a selected methodology, that will later be subject to discussion with all concerned researchers and experts.

The Workshop mainly aims at promoting the ideas of the middle generation, and finding channels to pass them on to the decision makers, as such, empowering their participation, and strengthening the dialogue on the suggested issues. All that in addition to supporting active players in the civil society armed with a comprehensive knowledge and an objective vision of issues of interest.
