“Shaping Research Universities in the Nile Basin Area” Workshop at the BA

Alexandria—The BA is hosting a Workshop for the Nile Basin Research Program, University of Bergen, Norway, entitled “Shaping Research Universities in the Nile Basin Area” from 23 to 26 March 2009.
The Nile Basin Research Program (NBRP) is a strategic, multidisciplinary program for research and education on topics related to the Nile Basin. The NBRP will serve as an overall framework and catalyst for activities and initiatives reflecting research and educational priorities of Nile Basin researchers. As a component of the Nile Basin Initiative, it focuses thematically on contested resources, climate dynamics, health and socio-economic aspects.
The Nile Basin Initiative was established in 1999 in an aim to set a strategy of cooperation between Nile countries and to move on from researches and studies to projects implementation.
The Workshop will start at 8:00 am at the BA Fourth Floating Room.
