The BA Hosts the Prize Ceremony for the First Round of the “World of Imagination” Competition

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina hosted yesterday morning the prize ceremony for the first edition of the “World of Imagination” drawing competition, launched by the Arts Center and sponsored by Banque Misr. This year's theme was “A Wave and a Sea.”

Five cash prizes were awarded for each age group, in addition to in-kind prizes for outstanding works, group works, and special categories.

The prizes were presented by Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Acting Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and Head of the Cultural Outreach Sector; musician Dr. Rageh Daoud, Supervisor of the Arts Center; Ms. Rasha Eid, Director of the Arts Center; Ms. Salsabil Qassem, Head of the Arts School Section; Ms. Omnia El-Dakrory, Head of the Programs and Activities Unit; as well as members of the jury and a representative from Banque Misr, the official sponsor of the competition.

A specialized committee of fine arts professors sorted and reviewed the participating works, based on precise criteria that include clarity of idea, design, creative imagination, and artistic harmony in colors and composition.

The committee included a group of distinguished professors with extensive technical and educational experience, namely Prof. Azza Abu Al-Saud, Professor Emerita at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University; Dr. Abdel Wahab Abdel Mohsen, visual artist; and Dr. Sherine Raouf, Lecturer at the Department of Art Education, Faculty of Specific Education, Alexandria University.
