Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, opened today a panel discussion entitled "The Future of Education in the Digital Era", as part of the "Alexandria Dialogues" series, with the participation of Dr. Hossam Badrawi, the political thinker and National Dialogue Advisor for Egypt Vision 2030.

Dr. Ahmed Zayed said that Dr. Hossam Badrawi is one of the most distinguished figures of thought, culture, and education in Egypt, who has made significant contributions in the field of culture and education, taken part in the development of the quality of education, and shaped the role played by civil society in this respect.

On the topic of digitization, Dr. Zayed pointed out that it has become part of the world and has imposed huge technological requirements on everyone. He also stated that the new generation has ambitions and a vision for the future that are substantially different from the older generations.

For his part, Dr. Badrawi highlighted the fact that although digitization and artificial intelligence are promising, their predominant use in wars and weapons raises concerns, therefore they need decisive ethical rules that can regulate them, which will be set by those who produce and control them.
