The BA Participates in the Global Conversation Conference 2021

The BA Center for Strategic Studies took part in the Global Conversation Conference 2021, which was held in Estonia from 25 to 29 August 2021. The Conference focused on discussing the implementation of the UN75 Declaration that aims to achieve the UN sustainable development goals.

The Conference included an extensive program of high-level discussions of the main international obstacles that prevent the achievement of the UN sustainable development goals. It also highlighted several crucial topics such as climate change, the importance of intercultural dialogue in addressing divisions and facilitating the reconciliation between communities, the importance of renouncing violence and extremism, smart cities, economic development, and international cooperation.

The BA Center for Strategic Studies participated in a session entitled “Intercultural Dialogues as a Tool for a More Effective Peace-building, Repudiating Intellectual Extremism, and Achieving Sustainable Development: A Model of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.” A film produced by the BA was also screened to showcase the new Library of Alexandria as a beacon of knowledge and culture, and a place that fosters the values of tolerance and understanding among peoples and civilizations.
