The BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies released a new book entitled Al-intisar Li-wasitat ʻiqd Al-amsar by Ibn Duqmaq, edited by Dr. Ayman Fouad Sayed, an expert in critical editing and publishing.
The book comes in two volumes, and examines the work of the Egyptian directorates (districts and governorates), highlighting their large cities, the names of their districts (centers), villages, and areas, with details about the plans of Fustat, the capital of Upper Egypt, and Cairo, the capital of Lower Egypt, and its most important landmarks such as mosques, schools, and homes. The book combines elements of administrative geography and planning.
