The BA Organizes “Furusiyya and Martial Arts During the Reign of the Mamluk Sultans” Conference

The BA Center for Islamic Civilization Studies organizes an international conference entitled “Furusiyya and Martial Arts During the Reign of the Mamluk Sultans” on 24 and 25 July 2019, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the BACC Delegates Hall. The conference will tackle several topics including Furusiyya literature and martial arts, military machinery and equipment in the Mamluk era, race courses and training in Mamluk Cairo, military ranks and badges, various influences on martial arts in the Mamluk era, the armada and military ships in the Mamluk era and the conflicts of power and military rivalry in the last century of the Mamluk era. Professors from Egypt, Germany and England will take part in the conference.
