The BA Issues Aashak Eskenderia about Poet Amal Donkol

The BA Arts Center issued a book titled Aashak Eskenderia (I Adore Alexandria) featuring testimonies about late Poet Amal Donkol in his 70th anniversary, which was previously held at the BA.


Edited by Omar Hazek, the book encompasses testimonies of Egyptian poets and critics from different generations, including Dr. Gaber Assfour, Poet Abd El-Moaty Heagzy, his wife Abla El-Rewiny, his brother Anas Donkal, Director Attiat El-Abnody, poets from the 7os and 8os generations, and young poets who have not meet Donkal personally but know him very well through his works.
 

The 155-page book also include photographs depicting different stages of Donkol’s life, and letters and poem in his own handwriting. A CD of Donkol’s poems with music composed by Sherif Mohie Eldin and a DVD of a documentary Hadith Al-Ghourfa Raqm Thamaneya (Talk of Room 8), directed by Attiat El-Abnoudy are enclosed with the book.
