International Day of Peace at the BA

The Institute for Peace Studies (IPS), affiliated to the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM), and hosted at the BA, celebrates the International Day of Peace on 21 September 2010.


IPS holds a variety of activities for children and adults to raise awareness about the culture of peace. The celebrations will be held throughout the day, and will include Muppet and puppet shows, folklore, tanora dance, face painting, print on textile, origami, documentary films in addition to a Hamza Namira concert. International and non-governmental organizations will display their publications and introduce their activities in the booths provided for that purpose.
 

This all-day event will start at 11:30 noon in the BA Plaza. 

Marking this occasion, the BA Arts Center will screen within its monthly cinema program Euripides Trilogy, directed by Michael Cacoyannis, including Iphigenia, The Trojan Women , and Electra. Screenings will take place from 21 to 23 September 2010 at 7:00 pm at the BA Auditorium.
