Dogma 95 Films at the BA

Alexandria— In collaboration with the Embassy of Denmark in Cairo, the BA Arts Center organizes a screening of some Dogma 95 films, on the occasion of 15 years since the movement was established, from 17 to 21 January 2010.
On the onset of the event, Samir Farid gives a lecture and then The Celebration, directed by Thomas Vinterberg, and The Idiots, directed by Lars Von Trier, are screened.
The following day features Mifune, directed by Soren Kragh-Jacobsen, and The King is Alive, directed by Kristian Levring.
On 19 January 2010, Italian for Beginners, directed by Lone Scherfing, and Truly Human, directed by Ake Sandgren, are screened.
20 January 2010 features screening of Kira's Reason, directed by Ole Christian Madsen, and Open Hearts, directed by Susanne Bier.
On the last day, 21 January 2010, Old, New, Borrowed and Blue, directed by Natasha Arthy, and In Your Hands, Directed by Annette K. Olesen, are screened. A Seminar moderated by Samir Farid follows the screening.
Dogma 95 is an avant-garde filmmaking movement that started in 1995, and was led by the Danish directors Lars von Trier, Søren Kragh-Jacobsen, Thomas Vinterberg, and Kristian Levring, who declared the Dogma 95 Manifesto and the "Vow of Chastity".
