New Academic Courses at the IPS

Alexandria—The Institute for Peace Studies (IPS), affiliated of the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement, and hosted at the BA, announced its third round of academic courses to be held during July and August 2009.

Courses offered this year are Culture of Peace (taught in English), Human Rights, Conflict Resolution, and Mediation and Negotiation (all three given in Arabic).

One can enroll in one course or all. They are open to graduate students or mid-career professionals who are fairly competent in the English Language and are able to do research work. Participants will be given certificates upon the completion of the course. Culture of Peace, Conflict Resolution, and Mediation and Negotiation courses are accredited by the United Nations mandated University for Peace (UPeace).

Copies of the applicant’s ID, graduation certificate and a short statement of purpose are required for application. Applicants registering in the Culture of Peace course must present their statement of purpose in English.

Registration is open daily from 10 to 30 June 2009, except for Fridays and Saturdays, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the BACC.
