“Harmonization of Pesticide Initiative” in a Workshop at the BA

Alexandria—The US Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, and the Egyptian Agricultural Pesticides Committee, in collaboration with the BA will host a workshop entitled “Harmonization of Pesticide Initiative for Specialty Crops for African Countries” from 30 March to 2 April 2009.
Dr. Salah Soliman, Special Advisor to the BA Director, stated that the Workshop will focus on facilitating the registration of new and safer pesticides in Africa, strengthening regionalization and partnerships, and establishing Maximum Residue Limits (MRL) through the Codex system that are more relevant to Africa.
Representatives from different African Countries will participate. The Workshop will take place in the BACC Delegates Hall at 9:00 am.
