The Bibliotheca Alexandrina: A Guest of Honor at the Sharjah Book Fair

In recognition of the importance of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina inauguration, the Library was a guest-of-honor at the Sharjah World Book Fair. Dr. Khaled Azab, BA Media Consultant, represented the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
During the book fair, a documentary film of the inauguration was displayed, in addition to another film illustrating the different components of the Library. As a token of appreciation of Sharjah to the Library, the pavilion of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina was next to the pavilion of the Ministry of Media and Culture. Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, was invited to give several lectures on the cultural role of the library, as well as his vision of the international intellectual, cultural and scientific issues. The lectures were held in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah
