Three months ago, the BA Manuscripts Museum began a collaborative project. in cooperation with the Amiri Diwan of the State of Kuwait and its Center for Historical Documents, chaired by Sheikha Mona Al-Jaber Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The project aimed to restore the Diwan’s damaged historical records due to their historical significance to the neighboring State of Kuwait. This is a preliminary step preceding restoring the entire collection of records.

Since 2 March 2015, the museum has been working on restoring the first batch of the Diwan’s records and the process has finally been concluded. This collection has been delivered back to the Diwan on 8 June 2015, and the second batch, including almost two thousand papers for restoration, has also been delivered to the museum.

While visiting the museum, the Amiri Diwan’s delegation donated a collection of publications by the Center for Historical Documents to the BA on the occasion of the UNESCO honoring the late Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah as an international personality in 2014–2015. These publications include Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah 1898–1996, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber: Pioneer of Culture and Education, the Booklets of Abdullah Al-Jaber’s Palaces, the documentary film Sheikh Abdullah Al-Jaber: Pioneer of Culture and Education, and a rare collection of stamps commemorating this historic occasion.
