Dr. Isamil Serageldin, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, was quoted as saying that it is important to overcome the obstacles facing the youth employment especially with the increase of the magnitude of the unemployment. To that end, a seminar will be held on Saturday 8 December 2001 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in which this issue will be discussed in depth. This seminar is a preface for an agenda that will be effective in September 2002, and will continue for a year.

The International program on the Youth Summit is the most important organization concerned with the Youth issues worldwide since its establishment in 1998. It gained more importance due to its involvement in issues relating to youth employment and development.

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina will host an International Conference on the Youth Employment between 11th and 15th September 2002. During this Conference, a report on the development and progress of the Youth training and rehabilitation program in Egypt will be submitted. Mrs. Poonam Ahluwalia said that following such practice in Egypt is a good example of interaction between the civil society institutions and the government as it triggers the real potentials of the Youth.
