Posted on

Alexandria— The BA will hold on Saturday, 1 September 2007, a lecture entitled "Agricultural Economic Integration Between Egypt and Sudan", by Dr. Mohammed Adel Ghandour, Agricultural Expert, as part of the cultural activities of the Scientific Committee of the BA Egyptian Friends Association.

The Sudanese Egyptian relationship is deeply rooted in the history of both countries. Following the independence of the two countries, economic integration initiatives were launched between Egypt and Sudan, especially in the field of agriculture. In 1974, Integration Charter and Military Pact was issued between the two countries, in accordance of which five joint companies were established, including the River Nile Navigation Company. Ten years later, leaders of the two sisterly countries signed the integration charter, which called for the establishment of a supreme council for integration, River Nile parliament, integration fund, and other cooperation processes.

The lecture will start at 19:00 hrs. at the BA Auditorium.
