In cooperation with the United Nations (UN) Environment Program and in line with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, the BA Center for Sustainable Development Studies is organizing an assembly on climate change to be held from 19 to 21 September 2017. Several experts from North African and Mediterranean countries (Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco) will participate in the event to discuss how each country is preparing to adapt with climate change.

This assembly aims to discuss and clarify the ambiguities that require further research in the fields of water resources, agriculture, desertification, and coastal cities in the North African region. The outcome of this assembly will be communicated in regional and international key meetings and conferences, for countries around the world should unite to hinder the phenomenon of climate change and cope with its devastating effects. The event also aims to determine the scientific loopholes that require further research in order to successfully counter the phenomenon of climate change and its negative effects on a large scale. This would, in turn, allow responsible and decision-making parties to formulate effective policies to adapt to those effects.
