Dr. Elfeki Heads the BA Delegation at the IFLA Conference in Athens

Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA, headed the BA delegation at the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Conference in Athens, and stressed the international role of the BA, especially in its relationship with libraries around the world. He also highlighted its cultural impact on its neighboring Arab countries, the Mediterranean and the entire world.

During the conference’s Arab countries meeting, Dr. Amgad El-Gohary, Head of the BA Library Sector, announced that the first Arabic translation of the 23rd edition of the Dewey Decimal Classification was completed and updated until March 2019.

Additionally, Dr. Elfeki and the BA delegation met with Dr. George Manginis, Academic Director of the Benaki Museum, and discussed the methods of developing museums and the means of preserving human heritage. He also touched upon the possibility of a collaboration between the Benaki Museum and the BA.
